Leap Valley Surgery serves the populations of Downend, Emersons Green, Yate and surrounding areas. The practice was first set up in 1955 and was two surgeries (Leap Valley and Abbotswood, Yate) until April 2017 when it merged with Emersons Green Medical Centre to become Green Valleys Health.
Our team includes GP's, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants and a Phlebotomist as well as Managers, Secretaries, Administrative and Reception staff.
We offer a full general practice service and run specialist clinics for children, patients with long-term conditions and for patients needing minor surgery.
We aim to treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence. We feel it is important you know who you are speaking to, so our practice staff wear a name badge and identify themselves on the telephone.
We are a ‘training practice’. This means hospital doctors wanting to enter general practice spend time with us learning and gaining the experience they need to become family doctors.
Leap Valley Surgery was inspected by the Care Quality Commission and our report was published on 2nd Jan 2019. Our care has been rated as Good. To see the full report click 'See the report' below.
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (i.e. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. The average pay for GPs working in the Green Valleys Health in the last financial year was £54,041 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 11 part-time GPs and 4 locum GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
